Illuminae is the first book in a YA, sci-fi trilogy.
Plot: This morning, Kady thought breaking up with Ezra was the hardest thing she’d have to do. This afternoon, her planet was invaded. The year is 2575, and two rival megacorporations are at war over a planet that’s little more than a speck at the edge of the universe. Now with enemy fire raining down on them, Kady and Ezra—who are barely even talking to each other—are forced to evacuate with a hostile warship in hot pursuit. But their problems are just getting started. A plague has broken out and is mutating with terrifying results; the fleet’s AI may actually be their enemy; and nobody in charge will say what’s really going on. The story is told through hacked IMs, e-mails, surveillance footage, maps, and more!
It is one of the most interesting books I have ever read. Not only does the plot make you want to keep turning the pages, but you also want to see how else the story will be told! It’s very unique.
The humor is fantastic!
I didn’t expect this book to be so funny but it definitely was! I loooove the way humor was conveyed between the characters via IMs. It’s so funny!!
Illuminae reads like a movie!
Seriously guys! It feels extremely cinematic. I have never felt that with a book before reading this one. It literally feels like you are watching a movie, but PLOT TWIST, you’re actually reading!
Ezra and Kady!
I adore these two characters! They bring the book so much life! Kady is definitely one of my new favorite characters of all time!
Lastly, you should read this book because it will keep you on the edge of your seat 24/7.
The suspense will kill you with anticipation. Honestly, I needed to know what was going to happen next the entire book (Especially the end).

I love Illuminae and the reasons are definite highlighst of the book. I picked the book up based on the format and everything else blew me away. The characters are amazing, plt entertaining and it really does read like a movie.

I’ve seen this book EVERYWHERE and I didn’t want to read it because I’m not a huge fan of science fiction but your post made me want to read it. Who knows? Maybe I’ll become the biggest science fiction fan out there. 🙂
